When you add a note to a customer or a contact this note will always be visible on any job you create for that contact or customer in the future. This is great if you have specific instructions on how to access the property or information about the customer the driver should know because you enter it once and it will appear on all jobs in the future. If you need to have a note that is specific to the job, just add a note to a job, this way the next time you create a job for a the same customer that note will not show up again.

The diagram below shows how works

Note

Notes can be edited by drivers if you would like the drivers to updated/add/delete notes. You can even grant this permission to each driver if you only want some drivers to have this permission. To do this navigate to Manage→Drivers and select the driver you would like to add the permission to. On the driver view screen select edit and the check the box "Edit/Delete notes" and save the driver.

Notes linked to job templates will be copied to the job when the job is created form a job template (i.e. when you drag the shift template onto the calendar which contains all of the job templates.). Below is an example to how notes in a job template are copied into the job when created. Additionally you can then add extra notes to the job after it is created. These notes will not effect the job template.

If you created the same note against a customer and a Job template, updating one note will not change the other note.
