Shifts and Shift Templates
Shifts and Shift Templates
What is a Shift?
Think of a “Shift” as the driver run sheet for the day. In order for a job to be assigned to a driver, that driver will need to have a “Shift” assigned to them for the day the job needs to be completed. The assigned jobs to the driver will be on the Shift, this way you can see all jobs assigned to that driver for the day/shift.
Should I use a Shift OR a Shift Template?
Shift Templates allow you to store default details on a template, which will be applied every time the Shift Template is utilised. If Driver 5 works every Monday and completes the same jobs each Monday, then a Shift Template would be very useful.
The Shift Template will allow you to setup default items such as
Shift Start and End time
Driver
Truck
Jobs
Note : Shift templates still allow you to add more jobs to the shift on the fly, as well as remove jobs as your requirements change
A Shift, is considered as a one off Shift which would have you configure the details of that one particular Shift.
Today, most Crittah customers utilise Shift Templates as they have routine Shift times and Operating days.
