Email logging and tracking

With Crittah Email logging you can check if an email was delivered or even read by the recipient. You can also search for undelivered email that may have "bounced" or were un-deliverable due to other reasons.

As always there are many ways to view email logging information in Crittah. You can view all email events and email sent by the system in the Administration section or you can view emails sent for receipts and invoices directly from the receipt/invoice page.

The following list shows the mail events that will be tracked from within Crittah

EventCriteria
ProcessedMessage has been received and is ready to be delivered.
DroppedYou may see the following drop reasons:
  • Invalid SMTPAPI header
  • Spam Content (if spam checker app enabled)
  • Unsubscribed Address
  • Bounced Address
  • Spam Reporting Address
  • Invalid
DeliveredMessage has been successfully delivered to the receiving server.
DeferredRecipient’s email server temporarily rejected message.
BounceReceiving server could not or would not accept message.
OpenRecipient has opened the HTML message.
ClickRecipient clicked on a link within the message.

View all email events

  1. Select the Admin menu option

 

2. Select Mail Events from the admin page

3. Enter the criteria in the search for the data range and type of events you are searching for

The search will then display all email events matching the search.

If you click on any of the events you will be then taken to the email log screen with will show you details about the orgional email and an event log of all recipients on that email.

View emails sent from within the application

Receipts and Invoices

If you have sent a receipt or invoice to a customer or contact you can view if the email the status of this email from within the receipt or invoice under the events tab.

  1. Select Finance -> and then Receipts/Invoices

2. Search for your receipt or invoice and then open it. Click on the events tab and you will see a status next to any "Sent Email " events indicating "SUCCESS" or "ERROR" of any email. If you clock on the Details or status of these email events it will take you to the Email Audit log page where you can see all events and details of that email.
